2023; Ebonyi APC flags off campaign

Hon. Francis Nwifuru, the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate of the state, Wednesday flagged off his election campaign.

The flag-off took place in Iboko, Izzi local government area of the state.

Speaking the governorship hopeful said he will establish Ebonyi State Boundary and Reconciliation commission to delineate intra-state boundaries and reconcile, reconstruct and rehabilitate conflict areas if elected to lead the state.

He also promises to run an open government on the principle of the charter of people’s needs.

He explained that the Charter shall be based on open Governance and
performance management, to make decisions through citizens’ input while focusing on outcomes and outputs.

Hon. Nwifuru promised to improve the security sector in the state, stressing that his administration shall prioritize internal security through the establishment of a community security forum.

The Speaker further promised to strengthen existing vigilante groups to partner with security agencies and improve the quality services of Ebubeagu Security Outfit.

In his remarks, the state Governor Engr. David Umahi who flagged off the campaign called on the people to vote for Nwifuru that he is an experienced leader and a three-time member of the state Assembly.

Umahi emphasized that it was the turn of the Izzi clan to produce the next governor of the state after his tenure.

Umahi prayed for a peaceful election and for APC to win at all levels in the state.
