Ruth Oginyi

The Chairman of Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Engr Elias Mbam has engaged Abuja-based stakeholders from Ebonyi state in consultation concerning his desire to replace governor David Umahi in 2023.

The deep consultation was in line with his agenda to carry everyone along in the scheme of things when elected governor.

The RMAFC chairman noted that every Ebonyi man and woman is critical to his agenda and promised to reach out to them despite his tight schedules.

According to him, based on records, he remains the most qualified candidate for the APC governorship ticket and urged the people to give him their support.

He promised to use his wealth of knowledge to develop the mineral resources Ebonyi is endowed with and boost the economy of the state to reduce the suffering of the masses.

He said, “The creation of Ebonyi state was divine and some of us who followed the process knew it was nothing but the hand of God. There was a time we had to tax ourselves to raise small money for the accommodation of those that were coming. Other states were lobbying with “Ghana must go bags” but God still gave it to us. God did not give us a state for nothing he gave us a state for a purpose.

God gave us a state to enable Ebonyians to develop their potentials, to work together as brothers and sisters to explore and develop the natural resources Ebonyi state is endowed with. These are part of the dreams of our founding fathers and so everybody here is privileged in Ebonyi state, for you to have come up from Ebonyi to Abuja is a privilege.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that this dream of Ebonyi state does not die. We are committed to it and we will continue to pursue it. Ebonyi state has blessed many of us. I am a principal beneficiary of Ebonyi state. I feel this is the time to pay back to our dear state Ebonyi and I want to thank all of you who have shown concern to the growth and development of our state.

“I thank our leaders, past and present who have contributed to the development of our state, however, I feel there is a need to consolidate and take Ebonyi to the next level. After I have accessed the journey so far and the need to continue to grow Ebonyi state, I felt that I have a service to offer to our state. I felt that I am in a position to contribute to the development of our dear state and so I feel I will consult my brothers and sisters in this journey. It is not possible that I will meet everybody at once, so I called this dinner for me to inform you that I have this desire, to tell you that am available to serve our state and that I need your advice, and support. I know that in a journey like this, there will be a lot of political intrigues but I want to assure you that the reason for my coming is basically to contribute and develop the resources in the state for the benefit of Ebonyi people. From my background as an engineer and my services in almost all the sectors, I believe I am well prepared to serve our state.
