Senator representing Ebonyi central at the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Youth and Sports, Obinna Ogba, Thursday promised to promote a mechanized system of Agriculture in the state thereby improving food security.

Ogba said he will achieve the goal through a partnership with agricultural sectors and higher institutions in the country.

The senator who is contesting the 2023 governorship election in Ebonyi under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), spoke in Abakaliki the state capital while addressing his teeming supporters during the reception they organized in his honor and official opening of his campaign office along Ezza road.

He further advocates for the restructuring of the state health sector in the state.

The restructuring according to him will reduce mother and child deaths and other preventable loss of life.

He emphasized that restructuring of the state health sector will be his priority from primary to tertiary if elected and lamented the increase in maternal/child deaths in the state.

The senator while outlining other plans he has for the state also said that he will return the lost glory of the state education system with a focus on the state University, other high institutions, and all the abandoned Primary and Secondary schools in the state.

“During our service period, our people will know that mechanized system of Agriculture is practicable through a partnership with Agriculture faculties and departments of our institutions of higher learning.

“We shall harness our culture and tourism sector and repackage it into a marketable venture through talent hunting and development, and growing our tourist centers”, he said.

Correspondent reports that the governorship hopeful on arrival from Abuja was welcomed by a mammoth crowd who thronged in their numbers at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu.

He was welcomed by different women, dancing groups, and special band groups.
