
ANYIM Pius Anyim, former Senate President and Secretary to the Federation, has finally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Anyim resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party and joined the APC on Saturday during the APC mega rally for the July 20th Local Government election in the state.
Anyim while speaking said leaders of Ebonyi State have resolved to collapse other political parties into the fold of the APC, to join hands with the state Governor to deliver the People’s Charter of Needs to the grassroots.
Anyim thanked the APC National Chairman Umar Ganduje for coming to receive them in Ebonyi.

According to him, we are here to assure and reassure you that Ebonyi is united under one party.
“The people of Ebonyi have resolved to collaborate with Gov. Francis Nwifuru and Minister of Works, Sen David Umahi to scale up our support for President Bola Tinubu “
“It is not about me. It is about Ebonyi people. We consulted before making this move. ” Anyim said.
Anyim joined APC with his supporters, including a two-term House of Representatives member, Livunus Makwe; former two-term House of Assembly member, Oliver Osi and Aja Nwabueze, who served as the Deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election in the state.
Other leaders and members of the Labour Party including Edward Nkwegu former Labour Party candidate in Ebonyi also joined the APC in Ebonyi, and leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Ebonyi also joined the party.
David Umahi, the immediate past governor of Ebonyi State in his speech said Nwifuru has consolidated the dream of Ebonyi Founding Fathers by bringing leaders of the state together.
He said they will continue to canvas for members until the entire southeast becomes an APC zone.
Stanley Okoro-Emegha, APC Chairman in Ebonyi, said the government wants to run a one-party system for the development of the state and welcomed the new members.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, presented the party flag to Sen. Anyim and other members of the opposition party that joined the party in Ebonyi.
Francis Nwifuru, Governor of Ebonyi State, assured Anyim and others of level playing ground in The All Progressives Congress APC .
