Ex-Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said that if a right candidate isn’t elected to power this coming year, the electorate are to blame.
He said the situation in Nigeria had got to a stage where the right set of people must intercede to save the country.
He said this while addressing PDP stakeholders in Calabar as they prepare for May 28 2022 primaries of the party.
He said, “History will judge the electorate if we fail to choose the right people to positions of power.
“I’m ready, qualified, available and have the right credentials which reasons I’ve offered myself to intervene in the country’s situation.”
The former vice president affirmed that the national ruling party had failed inconsolably in the area of security, thereby putting Nigerians’ lives at threat.
He said he’d the capacity, determination and courage to fix the issue of instability.
“The government of President (Muhammadu) Buhari has completely disappointed Nigerians in the area of security. The northern part of the country is the worst hit. The situation should no longer continue.”
He stressed that PDP can no longer swing to be in opposition, adding that the party would repossess both Cross River State and the country.
The candidate said if he turned the president, he’d work with the National Assembly to restructure the country.
He promised to give additional masteries to both the nation and regional governments.
