Gunmen suspect to be bandits have invaded LEA Primary School Kuriga (1) in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, kidnapped dozens of students, teachers after shooting one
The unfortunate incident said to have occurred on thursday morning at about 8:20 immediately after the students Assembly.
Though, the actual numbers of students and teachers abducted couldn’t be ascertained, as some eyewitness says over hundred students includes boys, girls, and the Principal of the Junior Secondary school were whisked way to unknown destination by the bandits.
confirming the incident, a resident of the community says most of the students ran out of their classes when they sighted large numbers of bandits on the school premises and were moved like animals into the forest by the bandits.
It was gathered that the LEA school hosted Junior, and Secondary students at the same premises.while they both relocated to same school building inside the Kuriga town a few years ago due to insecurity challenges and abandoning their former school building located outside the town.
However, The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident says personne and security operative l are trailing the abductors hoping to rescue the victims unhurt.
While, there was no official reaction from the state government as the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, is yet to react to a text message sent to him as at the time of filing this report.
