Industrial Conglomerate Provides Relief to Displaced Families
BUA Group, a leading industrial conglomerate in Nigeria, has announced a N2 billion donation to support victims of the devastating floods in Maiduguri, Borno state.
The donation, which consists of N1 billion in cash and N1 billion worth of essential food supplies, is aimed at alleviating the suffering of thousands of displaced residents affected by the flooding on September 10.
The flood displaced thousands of residents in the Fori, Galtimari, Gwange, and Bulabulin areas of Maiduguri, with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reporting over 30 deaths and more than 400,000 displaced.
In response, BUA Group, led by its chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu, stepped in with substantial aid. The company has committed to distributing vital food items such as flour, pasta, sugar, and rice to the most severely affected areas.
Speaking during the company’s visit to Maiduguri, Rabiu emphasized the responsibility of BUA as part of Nigerian society to act quickly and effectively during times of crisis.
“At BUA, we believe it is our responsibility to provide meaningful support to those impacted by disasters. Our thoughts are with the families affected by the recent flooding in Borno,” Rabiu said. “We urge other corporate organisations and individuals to join us in restoring hope and rebuilding lives.”
BUA also confirmed it would collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure that resources reach those in need and aid in the community’s recovery.
