Charterhouse School in Lagos Responds to Criticism Over N42m Annual Fee
The management of Charterhouse, a newly established school in Lekki, Lagos, has responded to public criticism regarding its annual fee of N42 million per primary school student, along with a non-refundable registration fee of N2 million. Despite backlash from the public, the school’s director of Communications, Admissions, and Marketing, Damilola Olatunbosun, defended the fee, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to delivering world-class education.
Olatunbosun clarified that Charterhouse is not just an ordinary school but a prestigious, value-driven educational institution recognized globally for its excellence. He highlighted that while some may perceive the fees as high, many parents, both locally and internationally, have expressed interest in enrolling their children due to the quality of education offered.
Addressing concerns about affordability and value, Olatunbosun explained that parents recognize the long-term benefits of investing in their children’s education at Charterhouse. He compared the cost of education abroad, factoring in foreign exchange rates and associated expenses, with the fees charged by the school.
Furthermore, Olatunbosun emphasized that Charterhouse in Lagos aims to replicate the standards of high-profile UK-based schools, offering a multicultural learning environment infused with Nigerian culture.
