Chinedu Ogah House of Representatives member representing Ikwo Ezza South Federal Constituency, Ebonyi State has distributed ten thousand (10,000) bags of NKP fertilizer to farmers in his constituency.
The fertilizer, the lawmaker said was to boost farm produce for the next harvest season in the 31 wards he is representing.
He noted that hunger was on the increase in the country and urged farmers to double their efforts to save the country from starvation.
The distribution took place in his home town Item Amagu Ikwo during the ceremony of his 48 birthday celebration.
The lawmaker added that the deep freezers, sewing machines, grinding machines, gasoline-generating sets and other items he also distributed to his Constituents were to make them self-reliant and reduce unemployment in the state.
Ogah also empowered about 22 journalists during the event.
The House of Reps member had earlier visited destitute homes in Abakaliki and donated life-changing items including foodstuffs, wrappers, and drugs to the Abakaliki correctional centre.
Okada people and artisans were also noted left behind as they were also empowered with undisclosed amounts of money and food.
“Today, I will empower our Youths, women and Elders with Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines, Refrigerators and generating sets.
I will also distribute fertilizer and other farming inputs to the farmers of the constituency as part of our contributions towards ensuring food sufficiency in my Constituency as contained in the People’s
Needs Manifesto of Ebonyi I State government.” He said.
