Chinedu Ogah the member representing Ikwo and Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, says the decision of the lawmakers to cut their monthly salaries by 50% for 6 months is a sacrifice and resolution reached by the House in solidarity with suffering Nigerians.
Ogah spoke in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, when he distributed over 1,200 bags of NPK Fertilizers to rural farmers from the 31 wards in his constituency.
The lawmaker told his constituents that the Fertilizers being distributed was courtesy of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas who donated a trailer truck load of bag’s of fertilizers to each member of the Green Chamber of the 10th National Assembly.
Ogah who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, urged the farmers to make judicious use of the agricultural input, that the economic situation in country needs everybody to embrace farming to promote food security.
“We are here to share fertilizer given to us by the National Assembly. It will be shared across party lines, stakeholders, and different support groups.
“We allow everybody regardless of party to benefit, and our own is to complement the effort of our governor. Please make sure that you use the farm input judiciously because we are interested in agriculture development.
