In the quest to bring lasting peace to every crisis area in Ikwo, Barr Sunday Nwankwo, the chairman of Ikwo local government area Ebonyi State Monday engaged stakeholders of the Ekpaomaka community in a peace talk.
Ekpaomaka is one of the communities in Ikwo Bedeviled by communal crisis.
The community is faced with intra-communal clashes with neighboring communities which made the government set up a peace committee.
The peace committee however is reportedly yet to present its report to the government.
Bar Nwankwo during the peace interaction thanked the stakeholders for their willingness to embrace peace and attract development into the community.
He urged crisis areas to embrace peace and unity and move their place forward.
“Today, in extending the peace already pervading Ikwo Local Government Area to some strategic hinterlands of the Council, I received Stakeholders and Leaders of the Ekpaomaka Community on a peace talk, at the Council Headquarters, Onuebonyi Echara.
“I’m proud of the openness of heart with which we interacted, and I thank them so much for being receptive to peace and unity.
“As always, we’ll build Ikwo and we’ll sustain the peace together,” he said.
