CONFERENCE OF NIGERIA POLITICAL PARTIES

STOP ANTIDEMOCRATIC ACTIVITIES IN RIVERS STATE.

We members of the CNPP are very uncomfortable with the unfolding events in RIVERS STATE.

The request of the former speaker that the GOVERNOR should represent the already signed
budget proposal, as reported by the Punch Newspaper of I 0th January 2024, is most
tLnde1nocratic and very unfortunate that our nascent democracy is being threatened due to
personal interests.

To FOSTER AND SUSTATN OUR DEMOCRACY, all the 25 legislators that DECAMPED
from the PDP to APC should by now be prepared for another election on the platform of their new
party.

We challenge INEC to prove their independence from the ruling party by calling for by election in
those 25 constituencies immediately, to FOSTER AND SUSTAIN OUR DEMOCRACY.

‘APC should seize the opportunity to prove that they actually won and can still win
· elections in RIVERS STATE by submitting to the constitutional provisions that compel TNEC to
conduct election for the vacated constituencies in the state.

All elected public servants inclt1ding and especially President BOLA AHMED TTNUBU swear to uphold
the constitution of the FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA,

We challenge Mr president to direct his party leadership to prepare for the necessary by election
in RIVERS STATE immediately to confirm his commit1nent to uphold the oath of office he swore
during his inauguration.

We are conunitted to FOSTER AND SUSTAIN OUR NASCENT DEMOCRACY.

The face off in the Rivers State governor and the honourable minister of the Federal capital Territory Barrister Nyesom Wike has called for questioning from many quarts.
First is the secretary general of the CNPP South West Chapter Oloye Adegboyega in a press release issued today,

To be continued.
