The wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Rachael Umahi, Tuesday said any Ebonyi woman in the state who wants to contest for any elective positions in the 2023 general elections including the governorship position will have his support.
Mrs. Umahi spoke in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital during this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration.
“We are pushing closer to the election and political year. A lot of people are on it again; give women 50 percent, give women 100 percent but when a woman mentions a fellow woman, it becomes a problem. A lot of people are being hated because of what other women told them about that person.
“I am so happy that our women are so exposed, blessed, enlightened, and bold. You have my support in anything that you want to run for including the governorship. Let us support ourselves this time like never before”, she said.
She commended the women for supporting her and her husband and called on them to maintain the support.
