Court orders SARS operatives accused of extrajudicial killing to pay N50m damage

The Kano state High Court presided over by Justice Y. M Ubale has on Tuesday ordered operatives of disbanded Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Kano SP Uba Bangajiya and Inspector Garba Galadima accused of extrajudicial killing to pay the family of the deceased N50m.

 Counsel to the family of the deceased Abba Hikima told journalist that Justice Ubale also ordered the Police officers to issue public apology to the family.

It will be recalled that the SARS operatives had on September 2019 arrested late Mustapha Idris Muhammad aka Baffa and detained him for 14 days.

While in detention, late Baffa was severely beaten and tortured by police, before he eventually died.
