
Professor Okey Reuben Okechukwu Provost Federal College of Education (Technical) Isu, Onicha local government area of Ebonyi state southeast Nigeria Friday warned students of the institution to note that cultism Remains an offence for rustication in the college.
He spoke during the median provost’s day/ anniversary of full academic take off of the institution.
The provost’s day was a day set aside to interact with the students and management of the college and bring ideas on how to move the school higher.
“My desire is to see Federal College of Education (Technical) Isu boom like oxford university.
” I want you to remember that cultism remains an offence for rustication in this school avoid it “.
To the staff he said, “We must work hard to increase students enrollment in this school so I encourage you to take your job seriously.
To be a good teacher you have to start with yourself.” He said
He warned against truancy among the staffers noting that anyone who has two jobs should consider the most important one and choose or rather quite from the college to give chance for serious minded staff to come in and work.
On The Education blue print of the federal government, the Provost, said that the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu in education is a revolutionary trend of lifting education in Nigeria where education for self sustenance and national development can be achieved.
“The renewed hope agenda of Mr President as it concerns education is a revolutionary trend of lifting education in Nigeria to a higher plane where we can favourably compete on equal capacity globally with international standard.
“This means that as students and staff of the college, we must strive to key into the revolutionary trend and move with speed of light to meet the new standard in education where education for self sustenance can be achieved.
He noted that as a technical college, students must take their workshops, laboratories, farm and galleries seriously, adding that those things were provided as educational instruments meant for training and development so that the graduates will be proficient in skill acquisition.
He urged the students to make laboratories and library their friends and bed fellows so as to graduate with flying colors and be useful to themselves, the society and proud Alumna and Almunae of the college.
He announced that in proper consultation with the management and academic board, he will institute provost awards for students and staff who distinguish themselves in the listed areas of learning, dressing, hardwork and in character.
Adding that the school has plans to introduce shuttle buses for easy movement from the temporal site to the parmenent site of the school.
On infrastructural development, Okechukwu disclosed that the college which inherited only two buildings courtesy of host community Isuokoma community now have a number of signature projects in both the temporary and permanent site of the college.
Dr. Ugochi Dean school of Education in the college in a remark commended the provost for creating a platform for both the students and management of the school to reason together and call for its suitability.
