Veteran dancer Kuni Samuel Kuni, known as LYF_OF_KSK, and his crew, The Dance Is My Talent Crew, are celebrating a monumental achievement after their stunning performance on Zee World’s popular dance competition, Dance Naija Dance. The crew made history by becoming the first-ever contestants to win two top prizes: the main prize of ₦2.5 million and the solo award of ₦1 million.
This victory caps off a successful 2024 for KSK and his crew. Earlier in the year, they secured the Best Dancer Award at the Yesuna Talent Hunt Show and placed fourth runner-up in Lasisi Elenu’s Talent Pass Talent Show, in addition to winning various online competitions.
KSK shared insights into the challenges faced during the competition, including adapting his usual dance style to incorporate a fusion of Nigerian and Indian dance forms. “It takes teamwork to overcome certain things,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in their success. He also noted that the competition significantly broadened his perspective on dance and storytelling, revealing the boundless creative potential of blending Nigerian and Indian dance.
“The fusion of Naija and Indian dance has no limit but an ember that keeps the creativity on at all times,” KSK explained.
Looking ahead, KSK encourages fellow dancers to step outside their comfort zones and explore new styles to expand their abilities. This historic win on Dance Naija Dance serves as a powerful testament to the hard work, talent, and dedication of KSK and The Dance Is My Talent Crew.
