Davido Launches Nine+ Records, Dissolves DMW Label in Partnership with UnitedMasters
Nigerian music icon and entrepreneur, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced the launch of his new record label, Nine+ Records, in collaboration with UnitedMasters. Under this partnership, Davido will take on the role of spearheading artist development and A&R for a roster of Nigerian talents.
As part of the transition, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), his former record label, has been dissolved. Davido took to his social media handle on Saturday to clarify the status of the artists previously signed to DMW, confirming that they will now be under the umbrella of Nine+ Records.
In his announcement, Davido stated, “All DMW artists would be moved to Nine+ records… Clearing the air!” This move consolidates Davido’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent within the Nigerian music industry while leveraging the resources and expertise of UnitedMasters.
Among the artists transitioning to Nine+ Records are notable names such as Dremo, Yonda, Peruzzi, Idowest, DJ Ecool, and others. The dissolution of DMW marks a new chapter in Davido’s career as he focuses on expanding his influence in artist development and fostering the growth of the Nigerian music scene.
The partnership between Davido and UnitedMasters signals a strategic alignment aimed at harnessing the potential of Nigerian artists and positioning Nine+ Records as a leading force in the global music landscape.
