A Lagos-based entrepreneur, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii has won factional governorship primaries of Ebonyi People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Four aspirant chief Austin Nwazunuku, Eze Emmanual Eze, Chukeuma Nwazuku, and Sylvester Ogbaga reportedly walked out of the venue alleging that the process was not transparent.
That the names of the delegates were made secret from some of the aspirants.
Meanwhile, an opposing faction of the party led by the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone, Obinna Ogba did not participate in the primaries claiming that he t National Leadership of the party suspended all primaries for the party in the state.
But the Ifeanyi Odii-led faction of the party held the governorship primaries at the party Secretariat along Abakaiki/Enugu expressway with INEC officials and security agents supervising it.
OdI scored a total of 349 votes to emerge the winner of the primaries.
The Chairman of the electoral Panel that the primaries, Olalekon Rotimi declared Odii the winner of the primaries.
He said, Hon. Christian Usulor got 9 votes while Chief Sunday Opoke scored 6 votes, Emmanuel Eze 5 votes.
According to him, Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku and his elder brother, Augustine got one vote each.
The winner of the primary Ifeanyi Odi thanked the delegates for giving him his votes.
He said he will work hard to ensure that the party wins the state during the general election.
