The Association of Communication Scholars and Proferssionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), Ebonyi State Chapter, has paid advocacy visit to the State Information Commissioner, Engr. Chikadibia Okpor, who assured them of Government’s support.
The delegation which was led by the Zonal Vice President, South East/Chairman Ebonyi State Chapter, Prof. Ifeyinwa Nsude, officially invited the Commissioner to this year’s workshop of the chapter titled: The Future is Here; Artificial Intelligence and the Rest of Us, holding on August 1, 2024.
Prof. Nsude also used the occasion to appeal for the support of Ebonyi State government for the workshop and other activities of the chapter.
She also invited the Commissioner and other professionals in the ministry to enroll as members of ACSPN.
Responding, Commissioner Okpor thanked the Chapter for the visit and assured them of Ebonyi State Government’s support.
He also promised to give thought to the invitation extended to him and his staff to join the association.
Engr. Okpor described communication business as a multi-faceted and multi-sectoral affairs, starting from the home, adding that the advent of information communication technologies have affected communication and made it imperative for all stakeholders in the industry to work together.
He assured that Ebonyi State Government would partner with the professional body in order to expose her information professionals to modern trends in discharging their duties.
Copies of ACSPN publicationas were presented to the commissioner during the visit.
