Ebonyi community deny endorsing aspirants for 2023 election

Ezzagu Community in Ishielu Local government area of Ebonyi State Friday deny endorsing some aspirants in the 2023 general election in the State.

The community in a statement challenged the Special Assistant to Governor David Umahi, Emmanuel Igwe over his claim that stakeholders and Leaders of Thought from the Community endorsed the aspirants.

In a statement signed by the National President of Ezzagu Zone General Assembly, Mr. Tobias Offia, and National Secretary, Mr. Michael Mbaba, the people of the community noted that they were never consulted or reached before taking the resolutions.

The statement, “2023: Ezzagu Community Has Not Spoken”, the people said it was ridiculous and a vote of incompetence that the Umahi’s aide could not convene stakeholders’ meeting in the Ezzagu community which made him and his cohorts hide in one hotel at Abakalik to draft out resolutions intended to represent the decision of the entire community when he has no electoral value in Ezzagu Community.

“How can a political appointee lie to a government he is serving? Who those he wants to impress by claiming he has met with stakeholders when he did not? It’s deceitful and misleading to the government he is serving because his presentation is fake”.

“He is aware that the plotters are merely seeking the attention of the State Government either to secure their jobs or justify any gratification for that purpose. However, the exercise is a total nullity and failure as the people of old Ezzagu zone were never consulted or reached before taking the resolutions”.

“It is interesting to note that the said meeting was never held as the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Lands and Survey, Emmanuel Igwe only conscripted two other persons to endorse the communique”.

“The resolutions are not only absurd but a mockery which should not be taken seriously, as it was a handiwork of a self-serving individual who wanted to be noticed”.

“It is also ridiculous and vote of incompetence that Chief Emmanuel Igwe cannot convene stakeholders meeting in Ezzagu community which made him and his cohorts to hide in one hotel at Abakalik to draft out resolutions intended to represent the decision of the entire community when he has no electoral value in Ezzagu Community”, the people said.

The Ezzagu community directed that all the endorsements should be canceled and nullified until the people of the zone review the political situation in the State before taking a definite stand.
