A federal high court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital has commenced hearing on the suit filed by a former House of Representatives member and Senatorial Aspirant in the just conclude PDP primaries, Hon. Linus Okorie against the Senator representing Ebonyi South Zone, Michael Ama Nnachi.
Okorie who contested the Ebonyi South Senatorial primaries of the PDP against Nnachi, was announced winner of primaries conducted on June 6, 2022.
The primaries was said to be inconclusive and a rerun was reportedly held and Ama Nnachi announced as the winner.
Report has it that the National Appeal Panel of the party upheld the re-run and return Ama Nnachi as Ebonyi South candidate of the party.
Okorie who was dissatisfied with the re-run and the National Assembly Appeal Panel, filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
But the suit was transferred to Federal High Court, Abakaliki Ebonyi state by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court Abuja.
The matter came up at Abakaliki judicial Division for mention on Friday.
Bar C. U. Idam appeared for the Plaintiff while Ama Nnachi and other three Defendants were not represented in the court.
Idam told the court that the Plaintiff was yet to study the suit and know if the defendants have been duly served and prayed the court for an extension of time to enable the Plaintiff effect the services on the remaining parties where necessary.
The trial Judge, Justice Fatun Riman adjourned the matter to 13th July, 2022 for hearing.
