A former Minister of State for Health, Engr. Fidelis Nwankwo, Tuesday lamented the collapse of the Eastern Cement Industry(NIGRECEM), Nkalagu, Ebonyi state, and promised to revive the cement factory in less than one year in office if elected the Governor.
Engr. Nwankwo and the erstwhile INEC National Commissioner are one of the eleven Aspirants that are aspiring for the governorship position in 2023 in the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
The guber aspirant said the people of Ebonyi State were craving good governance in the state and he was out to address the problem.
He spoke in Abakaliki, the State capital when a group in South East, Ugochinyere Foundation paid him a solidarity visit.
“I know that the people of Ebonyi State are clamoring for good governance and I have confidence that I am the one they are looking for in 2023 to give them that good governance.
“If I become the Governor of Ebonyi State, cement will roll out from NIGERCEM within 15 months because it is an industry that is beneficial to Igbo and the quality of NIGERCEM is the best in the country”.
The Chairman of the foundation who led the members on the solidarity visit, Dr. Jude Oguejiofor noted that they decided to support Nwankwo for the governorship position because of his pedigree.
