Ex-PDP Chairman Declares For Senate In Ebonyi

Ruth Oginyi

Ahead of the 2023 general election a former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State chapter Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has declared for the Ebonyi North Senatorial Position.

He made the declaration on Thursday in Abakaliki.

Nwebonyi said he would contest the position on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He disclosed that he had resigned his position as the Ebonyi State Commissioner.

“I want to formally declare my intention to run for the Ebonyi North Senatorial seat. As I speak, I’m consulting the stakeholders of the zone and they are echoing in affirmation. It is our prayer that God will crown our efforts.

“We have paid our dues as a member of APC. And you can bear me witness that in all the positions I have occupied, I have always used it for the service to humanity.

“As a party chairman, I was able to send many people to school through my scholarship scheme, I have been able to build houses for many indigent families and I have been able to empower the youths by way of giving them motorcycles to earn a living; I have given out so many vehicles, I have given grants to the young and the old to start businesses of their choice. All these things are counting for me and by the Glory God, we shall get there,” Nwebonyi said.
