The Provost Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu (FCETI), Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi state southeast Nigeria prof. Okey Okechukwu, Tuesday announced that the college now run both NCE and Degree programmes.
The Federal Government had granted the college a ‘dual mode status to offer both NCE and Degree programmes.
The provost spoke in a news conference, on Tuesday in Abakaliki.
Prof Okechukwu further explained that the college has been accredited to run a pre-NCE programme to accommodate candidates with deficiencies in either their O’level certificates or tertiary matriculation examination (UTME).
His words, “The college, was granted dual mode status which means that the college can admit and train students for both NCE and Degree programmes without recourse to any other tertiary institution.
” We have been authorized by law dully assented to by the president to run both NCE and Degree programme within our college. A mile stone which eluded many colleges but available to us on a platter.
” We have also been accredited to run pre-NCE programme for those candidates seeking admission but are deficient in their basic admission requirements namely at the O’level certifications and JAMB results.
” Our college welcomes all those candidates with deficiencies to apply instead of idling away at homes waiting for admissions or expectations that are endless and may never come.
Correspondent reports that the Federal college of Education (Technical) Isu has four schools which are the School of Secondary Education (Science), the School of Secondary Education (Technical), the School of General Studies and the School of Vocational Education.
And the college currently runs 16 academic programmes across 16 departments of the four accredited schools.
Prof Okechukwu used the opportunity to call on the teeming youths seeking admission into tertiary institutions to come to the FCETI , a college with an abundance of opportunities for admission made ease.
He emphasised that those who sat for UTME and scored up to 100 and are being denied admission In other institution should change to any course in the college for urgent admission.
“We invite also those who did not sit for UTME also to apply; admission forms are available, online or in the college. Click fcetisuadmission.com.ng and follow the procedure. We admit also those for the Pre-NCE programme,” he said.
The has a total of One Hundred and Sixty-Five (165) Pioneer students for a start.,
