The newly established federal college of Education Technical, Isu, Ebonyi State southeast Nigeria is set to take off academic activities by October 2022 as the institution opens the admission portal for the 2022/2023 academic year.
Prof Okey Reuben Okechukwu, provost of the institution disclosed this to journalists on Wednesday while highlighting the achievements of the school and its preparation for remote take-off of academic activities.
He said the school also expects the pre-NCE Programme and Professional Diploma in Education ( PDE) students to apply for admission pointing out that their school fees are affordable.
“We accept all those who wrote JAMB and scored 100 and above according to 2022/2023 JAMB policy on admission for colleges of education.
” Students who wish to study in our college should have 5 credits in not more than two sittings”. Prof Okey said.
The college according to the provost, with the assistance of the host community, the Ebonyi State government as well as private individuals and organizations, the institution has acquired and set up both permanent and temporary sites for academic activities.
Prof Okey, further explained that the college has entered the national budget and TETFUND intervention platform which means it has achieved a steady funding source.
” We have some intervention projects going on in the temporary and the permanent sites, some of which shall be completed before the October 2022 assumption date.
” We invite prospective students and admission seekers to apply for admission in our college, the federal college of Education Technical Isu Ebonyi State for the 2022/2023 admission year.
The college has four approved schools for its take-off and offers courses of study as prescribed for the school.
The new school is taking off with the School of Education and General Studies, School of (Secondary Education) Sciences, School of (Secondary Education) Technical, and School of (Secondary Education) Vocational.
The four schools have eighteen departments including the Education department, English and general studies, Biology Education, Chemistry, and physics Education among others.
Prof Okey explained that the school have made ground arrangement to induct the fresh students on security tips and other areas they should be careful with.
He commended the host community for donating about one hundred and seventy-four heaters of land (1.74) hectares of land for the school.
