— Fred Ajudua’s Crumbling Frauducracy and the Celebration of Adankele Pat Ajudua Defeat
The snail has come to roast; spitting on the fire with its dying fluid in the name of quenching it. Hear Fred Ajudua—the iconic Advance Fee fraudster and cyber crime magnate:
“At the Primaries, the returning Officer, Victor Eboka , sent the agents of the aspirants about 100 meters away from where he was issuing the ballot Papers to the delegates and in addition, charge them to vote no 1 on the ballot paper being the directive from The Gov of the state. Most of these delegates are timid and obviously get easily intimidated by the word “THE SYSTEM SAID AND THE GOVERNOR SAID.” Despite all these intimidation and manipulative tactics, AJUDUA was still able to garner 35 votes. We want to put it on record that this is not the true reflection of the feelings of the grassroot and it’s outcome is not acceptable to the vast majority of our people.”
So what Fred Ajudua is telling Anioma people is that, most of their noble sons and daughters elected as Delegates to elect their representatives are timid. The people of Aniomaland will also like Fred Ajudua to tell them what he meant by the statement, “We want to put it on record that this is not the true reflection of the feelings of the grassroot and it’s outcome is not acceptable to the vast majority of our people”, beyond the fact that the defeat of his wife is good riddance of the stubborn chaff from the political wheat of the people. Where else could the feelings of the grassroots be expressed except through the ballot box and who told Fred Ajudua that the outcome of that ballot that saw his wife Adankele Pat Ajudua crashing on the canvass with an upper-cut driven technical knock-out is not acceptable to the vast majority of our people?
To the vast majority of Ibusa people in particular and Aniomaland in general it was more than one prayer answered when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Electoral Delegates from the four Local Government Areas of Delta State—Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North, and Oshimili South, said “No” to frauds and fraudsters incorporated in politics by overseeing the resounding trouncing of Mrs. Pat Adankele Ajudua— the Political Jezebel of Ibusa Clan and wife of the notorious Advance Fee and Cyber Fraudster-turned heinous political kingmaker Mr. Fred Chijindu Ajudua. This is indeed a positive image laundering for both the Delta State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
I also wish to congratulate Hon. Ndudi Elumelu whose humble beginnings and source of wealth are well known to the people of Aniomaland for consummating this onerous task of detaching this monstrous leprous image of Anioma People from the realm of their partisan politics. My special unqualified appreciation goes to our all-powerful and all-knowing Olisebuluwa, his only Begotten Son Dibia Isi-Ayaga and his plethora of Benevolent Territorial Angels (BTA) of our land—Oboshi, Iyioji, Onishe, Obida, Iyi-Oda, Iyi-Ukwu, Nnem-Onicha, Mkpitime, Utor, Ologodo, Umomi, and Adofi among others, for their concern and eventual liberation of our people from this leprous image called Fred Ajudua.
I don’t intend to preach Angelic because there is no land without crime and criminals, as our people say, “Ani a di adi ma ngwele adihoa”—there is no land without a lizard. Yet, as our people further say, “nkita ncha na-eli nsi, mana nke wa fua n’onua na-elia”—every dog eats shit but the one with shit crumbs on its mouth is the shit eater. Fred Ajudua was never the originator of Advance Fee Fraud popularly known as 419, which subsequently metamorphosed into cyber fraud.
The problem with Fred Ajudua is that he raised these frauds incorporated to the level of cultic legitimacy adorned with shameless social flamboyance and eclectic political influence which are often driven by viciousness among the high and low. Those who originated this crime were indeed the Muslim Hausa and Fulani of the north, which was later appropriated by the Igbo of Southeast, from thence it crossed west of the Niger. Yet never were these fraudsters celebrated and worship among the Hausa-Fulani and Igbo of Southeast in the manner and to the extent Fred Ajudua is celebrated and worshiped among Anioma people—Igbo west of the Niger.
In fact the one monstrous character Fred Ajudua has is his reckless capacity to bribe whosoever stands on his way. He even boasts of his capability to bride Angels in Heaven. Thus to him such agencies as the Nigeria security agencies, the Judiciary and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are mere peanuts before him. And obviously Fred Ajudua seems to have proved his mettle in this regard. He boasts that it would take the next world to come for any Court in Nigeria, be it the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to commit him for any case of fraud.
Adorned with the horrible and shameless twin traditional title names of Onwa na-Etili Oha of Ibusa (The Moon that shines over all the people of Ibusa) and Dike di Oha Mma of Anioma (The beloved hero of Anioma—Delta Igbo people), Fred Ajudua represents an ethereal paradox of the customary moral instincts of the Igbo of West Niger.
In October 2003 the former Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr. Nuhu Ribadu was reported saying that Mr. Fred Ajudua had twelve pending cases of Advance Fee Fraud Scam. The question before us is from 2003 to 2022, which among these twelve cases has been diligently prosecuted before the Nigerian Court of law?
The German woman Frieda Springer-Beck who was scammed $350,000 was nearly killed by Fred Ajudua in Lagos when she came to trace him. In July 2005, after series of frustrating court appearances that began in 1993 orchestrated by Fred Ajudua’s craftiness in bribing the officials of Nigeria Police, the EFCC and High Court Judges, Frieda Springer-Beck was forced into an out-of-court settlement with Fred Ajudua. Similarly, on October 14, 2014, the case against Fred Ajudua brought by the two Dutch businessmen he defrauded the sum of $1.69 million was struck out due to lack of diligent prosecution, still orchestrated by the obvious collaboration by both the EFCC and the Judiciary.
Presently Fred Ajudua has two high profile scam cases before the EFCC. The first is the one million dollars scam he defrauded Mr. Ziad Abu Zalaf which commenced prosecution in 2005 and is yet to be concluded today. Indeed, in this particular case Fred Ajudua’s co-conspirator and second defendant Mr. Joseph Uchunor, a.k.a Obaseki who is reported dead, is currently rampaging Ibusa community in collaboration with Fred Ajudua through forcible and criminal appropriation of their community landed property. The second concerns Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Ishaya Bamayi who was defrauded of the sum of $8.4 million and which prosecution commenced in 2014.
This is the same man the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari and the Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa issued the warrant to eliminate their political opponents both home and abroad. This is the same man whose wife is currently in Delta State House of Assembly as a legislator and even attempted to move up to Federal House of Representatives. This is the same man whose immediate elder sister of the same father and mother is entrusted with the sensitive portfolio of Commissioner of Lands, Survey and Urban Development by the Delta State Governor. Above all, this is the man who tells the members of Delta State Judiciary who should be committed to prisons and who should not among his opponents and it is done without equivocation.
Fred Ajudua has remained the only international fraudster on trial granted multiple permissions by the Nigerian judiciary to travel abroad for fraudulent and undefined illness, all as part of the combined collusion with the EFCC and judiciary to frustrate his victims’ attempts to extract justice from the perpetually corrupt Nigerian security and judicial institutions. In 2021 alone, Fred Ajudua was the only person on trial before the court of law in Nigeria whose cases were adjourned over the false claim of contacting Covid-19 virus. Yet he maintained his normal close contacts with his addle-brained vagrant followers, collaborators and shameless political associates.
In 2007, an Administrative Panel of Inquiry on Corrupt Practices recommended that Mr. Fred Ajudua’s wife Mrs. Pat Ajudua who is currently a lawmaker with Delta State House of Assembly should be banned from seeking elective political office in Nigeria for being a major accomplice in the conspiracy to defraud some individuals of the sums of $7.85 million and 3 million naira respectively.
However using his usual dubious network of corrupt Nigerian security and judicial officials Fred Ajudua ably bribed his way through Nigeria’s Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), as he once boasted, with the sum of 10 million naira.
If you speak of the town of Ibusa you are talking of the iconic Isu-Mba Ogu—home of celebrated warriors of old: the hometown of Bishop Lucas Nwaezeapu—First Roman Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese; the hometown of Professor Pat Utomi—the enigmatic scholar and pro-democracy activist; the hometown of Admiral Dele Ezeoba (rtd)—the recent past Nigeria’s Chief of Naval Staff; the hometown of Obi (Col) Emmanuel Nzekwue (rtd)—one time Africa’s best paratrooper; the hometown of Obi (Senator) Nosike Ikpo; the hometown of Mr. E. C. Halim—a renowned technocrat Permanent Secretary, his younger brother Francis Halim—Permanent Secretary; the hometown of Hon. Justice V. J. O. Chigbue of the Federal Appeal Court; the hometown of Hon. Justice T. O. Uloho; and the hometown of Chief Chike Chigbue, SAN; the hometown of Ambassador Ignatius Olisemeka— former Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; the hometown of Obi (Professor) Patrick Chike Onwuachi—former Director General of Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; the hometown of Professor Emmanuel Nolue Emenanjo—Linguistic icon and first Professor of Igbo language and literature.
Ibusa yet the hometown of Professor John Christopher Abusa Nwaefuna—renowned international psychiatrist; the home town of Ambassador Cyril Chinweuba Uchuno; the hometown of Dr. (Chief) John Asikabulu Anaza—Economist and Owelle of Ibusa; the hometown of Chief Celestine Okobi—for Executive Director Central Bank of Nigeria, Managing Director Bank of Commerce, and Ezemese of Ibusa; the hometown of the unassuming Mr. Martin Ikediashi—entrepreneur and notable philanthropist; the hometown of Engineer Uchidiunor—first Managing Director, NITEL; the hometown of Michael Angulu Onwuejeogwu—the renowned anthropologist of Igbo cultural theory; the hometown of Mr. Frank Odita—the most celebrated Nigeria Police Force Spokesman; the hometown of Prof. Nwanze Okidegbe— former National Economic Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan and the hometown of Ambassador Frank Ngozi Isoh.
This is hometown of Barrister Albert Chukwudebe James Nwajei—WW II veteran of the Royal Airforce and first Ibusa legal practitioner; the hometown of the pre-Nigerian civil war gallant officers of the Nigeria Armed Forces—Colonels Mike Nduka Okwechime, S. B. Nwajei, Henry Igboba, Major Albert Okonkwo—the Col Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu-appointed Military Administrator of Midwest Region and later the short-lived Republic of Benin, Lt. Onwuenweonyi Oliewunaji Uwechue—the gallant Biafran Commander of Anioma Sector.
Is this Ibusa the same town Fred Ajudua presents himself as the “Moon that shines over all the people?” Onwa na-etili Oha indeed! Is it not the same Ibusa town His Royal Highness Obi (Professor) Louis Cheluno Nwoboshi—a renowned Professor of Forestry is the Traditional Ruler? This is indeed the same clan Chief Willy Ukadike Ikolodo—the former Uwolo of Ibusa and pace-setting radical philanthropist once held sway.
To conclude without prejudice, is Ibusa not the same town where Senator Peter Nwoboshi—the current Senator of the Federal Republic Nigeria representing Delta North Senatorial District hails from? This is Ibusa where at one point the Central Bank of Nigeria had her three noble sons as Directors at the same time—Mr. Donatus Halim, Chief Odigwe Nwarache, and Dr. Michael Dumbili Nwarache.
This is the same town where both local and international Advance fee fraudsters and cyber criminals now hold sway under the superintendence of Mr. Fred Ajudua, celebrating criminality as a virtue and model of youthful achievement.
Fred Ajudua also has the effrontery to brandish himself as the Dike di Oha Mma of Anioma (The beloved hero of Anioma people)— meaning the entire Western Igbo sub-culture area, defined in political terms as Delta North Senatorial District. Is this the same Senatorial District or another District where Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala—Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO) comes from? The same Senatorial District Dr. Godwin Emefiele—Nigeria’s current Central Bank Governor comes from? The same Senatorial District General Lucky Irabor—Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff comes from?
We are talking of the historic homeland of the current Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa; of His Royal Highness Obi (Professor) Chike Edozien—the Asagba of Asaba, a renowned medical scientist and Professor Emeritus of University of North Carolina; the same home-Senatorial District of Ambassador Ralph Uwechue—Civil War, Biafran Envoy to France, renowned international journalist, publisher and former President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo; the Senatorial District of Chief Philip Asiodu—Technocrat par excellence, of Col Joseph Achuzia—Nigerian Civil veteran, the legendary Hannibal and Air Raid, and most celebrated field commander of the defunct Biafran Army Forces; of Chief Sunny Iwedike Odogwu— Ide Ahaba and iconic businessman with the taste of new brands.
Remember this is the homeland of the immediate-past Primate of the Anglican Church of Nigeria, Rt. Reverend Nicholas Okoh; of Roman Catholic Bishop emeritus of Enugu Diocese Rt. Reverend Anthony Gbuji; of the current Archbishop of Enugu Province of Anglican Communion Rt. Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma; of erstwhile Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Federal Republic of Nigeria; of Professor Epiphany Azinge, SAN— the evergreen Legal luminary and theorist; of Tony Elumelu and Jim Ovia—iconic bankers of International repute; of Nduka Obaigbena—the indefatigable guru of the Fourth Estate and Chief Executive Officer of Thisday Newspaper and Arise International News Channel; of Dr. Newton Jibunoh—the Desert Warrior and modern-day intrepid Conqueror of Sahara Desert. Let us not forget this is the Senatorial homeland of Nigeria’s iconic soccer superstars and erstwhile Captains of Nigeria’s national team—Super Eagles—Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh, Jay Jay Okocha, and Nduka Ugbade of Golden Eaglets.
Let us even go back on memory lane. Do not forget we are talking about the descendants of the dreaded and gallant traditional Ekumeku warriors of anti-European scramble and partition fame; the Ekumeku that sired such famed gallant soldiers as Major General Cyril Iweze—Chief of Staff of ECOMOG and the most decorated West African officer of the Liberian civil war, Brigadier General Fred Chijuka—former Director of Defence Information; Col. Walter Jibunoh—former Nigerian Army Spokesman; Mr. Peter Nwaoduah—former Nigeria’s Chief Spy-master and Director-General of State Security Service (SSS) now DSS; the erudite Brigadier General Raymond Nkem Ochei and, such veterans of pre-Nigerian civil war armed forces as Navy Commander Onwura Zonyeuno Chiazor—the first Nigerian to be commissioned into the Royal Navy by Queen Elizabeth II in 1957, Navy Captain Wilfred Anuku—the Commander of the Biafran Navy, Colonels Conrad Nwawo, Mike Nduka Okwechima, Henry Igboba, Ben Ochei, Macaulay Onyuku Nzefili, Henry Igboba, Silvanus. B. Nwajei, Animam Keshi, Rudolf Trimnell, Matthias Moholenu Morah—the Master Army Paymaster, Arthur Chinyelu Unegbe, Majors Patrick Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu—the hero of January 15, 1966 Nigerian revolution, Albert Okonkwo—Administrator of the Midwestern Nigeria, H. Asoya—the Okpanam Wonder Field Commander of the Biafran Army Brigade, and Brigadier Alabi-Isama of the Nigerian Civil War famed 3rd Marine Commandos.
It is in the light of the above plethora of celebrated men of intellectual and martial gallantry that I stand here to question the continued adornment of the traditional title of Dike di Oha Mma of Anioma by Fred Ajudua—a man who has never been known throughout his life for a defined honourable means of livelihood beyond unending tales of daring and vicious escapades in high-profile criminal acts of frauds, scams, and murder. Today, the name Fred Ajudua is synonymous with fraud at its highest and most celebrated vicious level.
How then can such a man present himself as the image of Anioma gallantry and achievement instinct? How can such a man present himself as Onwa na-etli Oha of Ibusa—the moon that shines for the entire indigenes of Ibusa—home and abroad, including the present writer? These are the questions I call on the entire good people of Aniomaland to reflect upon in the light of our historical pride as the most principled, morally upright and patriotic among all the Igbo sub-groups. “Anyi amana-ala nne na-eshigbu nwa” (we cannot be fucking a woman and at the same time suffocating her child). How can we expect a decent political leadership, a decent future generation and a decent social order if we allow our children and youth to see Fred Ajudua as their model of youthful achievement, the model of political leadership, and the model of Anioma personality?
