Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted the newly elected Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, at the Lagos House in Marina on Saturday. The visit was a gesture of gratitude from Okpebholo, following his recent victory in the Edo State governorship election.

Governor Sanwo-Olu shared the news on his X.com account, stating, “Today, I received the Governor-Elect of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, at Lagos House, Marina. We discussed collaborative efforts that could benefit both Edo and Lagos State. It is clear that Senator Okpebholo has a strong vision for his state and is dedicated to its progress.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the highly competitive Edo State governorship election. Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes, triumphing in 11 out of 18 Local Government Areas, while his closest opponent, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,274 votes and won in seven LGs.
