To Our Dear Muslim Brothers And Sisters,i wish you Eid Mubarak.
Eid, which is Arabic for ‘feast’ or ‘festival’, is celebrated by Muslims to mark significant events in the Islamic lunar calendar. This month is commonly known as Ramadan, Muslims far and wide to observe fasting from dawn to dusk. Eid Mubarak is the festival of breaking of fast where family and friends come together to indulge in a spread.
I am joyfully privileged to felicitates with my Muslim Brothers and Sister around the globe. Indeed Eid al-Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice) is very significant and historic in the teachings of Islam. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his Son Isma’il (Ishmael) as an act of obedient to Almighty God’s command.
The tradition involves slaughtering an animal and sharing of meat to friends, family, poor and the needy.
However, the purpose of sacrifice during this festival is not about shedding of blood to please/satisfy God, but it is all about sacrificing something out of devotion and advance the message of Eid.
As we have witness this year’s Eid, may the spirit of sacrifice, helping the less privileged, and catering for the needy continue in our society. May we learn from the teachings of this sacrifice as we continue to sacrifice what we value most to the most vulnerable people. May the peace and blessings of Almighty continue to be with us throughout our lives.
Happy Sallah!!!
