Alhaja Aminat Irawo, Debo Adeniran Esq, Banji Ajayi (JP) and other honorable names spoke in the tone to favour the legend
Alhaja Irawo spoke on the struggles Abiola faced in his time, from fighting for democracy to his election which was said to have been nullified by Gen Ibrahim Babangida, the loss of his wife Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, his years in isolation and much more,
Placing her faith on the current president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Alhaja Irawo said she believed that BAT will approve and endorse “Hope 93 Election” placing MKO Abiola in the records as President of Nigeria and also grant his family all their entitlements.
She also lamented on the fact that presidents and their subordinates never took their time to come down to Abiola’s house to honor his remembrance.
In a summary from comrade. Debo Adeniran Esq, chairman of the centre for Anti-corruption and open leadership (CACOL) said, Abiola’s problems started after he won his election and refused to submit to the military’s polygamy which was aimed at collecting his mandate, he knew the people loved him so he wanted to give a convenient life for them, surrendering his mandate meant restricting the people of their entitlements,
President Tinubu was there with Abiola in agreement to make life greener for Nigerians, thus hope has been renewed by Tinubu’s emergence as the current President, he also placed his believe in Tinubu endorsing Abiola as the President even though he didn’t rule making the military leader mere placeholders as they occupied the space they didn’t deserve.
Pastor Banji Ajayi (JP) who opened the event in prayers also made a few remarks about Abiola’s struggles and appreciated everyone at the gathering for their efforts to continue supporting the late leader, he prayed for his family to be recognized with their entitlement.
