BellaNaija: How do you feel today?
Adelayo Adedayo: I’m good. It’s nice today in London. It’s hot, which is a blessing for us. We don’t get it very often, so I’m happy.
BellaNaija: What’s it like being part of a chart-topping show?
Adelayo Adedayo: Amazing! It feels amazing. One of my favorite things about being an actor and telling stories is connecting with people. To have so many people connecting with the show, that’s really amazing.
On Dionne and Michael’s Heart-Wrenching Storyline
BellaNaija: Why didn’t Dionne go home when Michael asked?
Adelayo Adedayo: Love. When you’re in love, and considering the first time he asked her, he didn’t really fight her on going home, it makes sense. They’ve communicated, they know exactly where they are and what’s going to happen. They don’t have much time together, so would you want to leave?
BellaNaija: What part of Dionne’s character did you most enjoy bringing to life?
Adelayo Adedayo: Her caring nature. She goes hard for the people she loves. In her job, you can tell that she cares about people and will fight for them. That quality appeals to me.
BellaNaija: What was the most memorable or challenging scene to film as Dionne?
Adelayo Adedayo: The last scene. It was very sad and emotional, with a lot of blood. It was cold, we were shooting at night in the dead of winter, and I had to have blood pellets in my mouth. It was quite challenging but added to the despair of it all.
BellaNaija: What’s the key takeaway from Dionne’s character and journey?
Adelayo Adedayo: Communication. It’s important to talk to the people you love and tell them what’s going on, even if it’s difficult. That’s what I hope people take away from Dionne.

BellaNaija: Tell us a little about yourself.
Adelayo Adedayo: I’m an only child and a British Nigerian. I studied law, went to law school, and then dropped out because I realized it wasn’t where I was supposed to be. I’ve been acting ever since.
BellaNaija: How did your parents initially react to your career switch?
Adelayo Adedayo: Not very well. My mom was incredibly nervous because a career as an actor wasn’t something she knew could make me secure. It took her a while to accept that I could support myself.
BellaNaija: What’s on your playlist right now?
Adelayo Adedayo: This morning, I was vibing to “Happiness” by Asake and “Dangote” by Burna Boy. My Afrobeats song choice changes every day because there are so many great artists. I tend to listen to Afrobeats in the morning because it sets you up for the day.

BellaNaija: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Adelayo Adedayo: To fly. Sometimes you want to escape and relax, and the ability to fly would be perfect for that.
BellaNaija: What’s the ideal way to enjoy pounded yam?
Adelayo Adedayo: Simple. Pounded yam, stew (normal red stew), and okra. Perfect. I also like it with champagne or ice-cold water with loads of ice cubes.
BellaNaija: What’s next on “Supacell”?
Adelayo Adedayo: Oh, I don’t know. I can tell you nothing. If I do, I’ll be in a lot of trouble. So I don’t know.
