New Shared-Ride Service Targets Offices, Churches, and Communities, Offering Direct, Affordable, and Coordinated Group Mobility

LAGOS, NIGERIA – Lagride, Lagos’ leading smart mobility platform, has announced the launch of the Lagride Omni, a low-cost, air-conditioned shared-ride service set to revolutionize group transportation across Africa’s largest city. The Omni is specifically designed for offices, churches, schools, and large groups, offering a safer, cleaner, and more coordinated alternative to traditional transport options like the Korope minibuses.

The initiative represents a major leap in modernizing group transportation, providing a new Lagos experience centered on comfort, convenience, and community.

Affordability Meets Private Comfort

Early adoption has demonstrated strong interest, with individual riders choosing the Lagride Omni due to its significantly lower cost compared to regular ride-hailing services. The service provides spacious, air-conditioned movement for up to six passengers. Crucially, each ride is private and direct, making zero stops for additional pickups or drop-offs once booked on the Lagride app.

Chief Diana Chen, Chairman of Lagride, described the Omni as a significant step in the company’s mission to democratize mobility.

“Mobility is one of the greatest drivers of opportunity,” she said. “By making modern transport affordable and accessible to every segment of society, Lagride is helping to build a more connected Lagos where movement creates meaning and community thrives.”

Technology, Training, and Empowerment

The Lagride Omni blends comfort and technology seamlessly. Each vehicle is fully air-conditioned, GPS-enabled, and operated by trained drivers certified through the renowned Lagride Academy. This ensures top safety and customer-service standards.

Mr. Jubril Arogundade, Acting Managing Director of Lagride, confirmed the Omni was designed to meet the real needs of Lagosians who move together daily. “With the Lagride Omni, one person can make a single booking and everyone joins the same ride… This is how Lagos will move together safely, conveniently, and in comfort.”

The initiative is also a major empowerment programme, with Lagride actively recruiting 1,000 new manual drivers for the Omni fleet. Every driver will receive professional training and certification through the Lagride Academy, ensuring sustainable income opportunities alongside an improved commuting experience for the public.
