As Ebonyi State Independent electoral commission EBSIEC prepares for the state local government elections slated for July 20th, 2024, a group, Izzo-Imoha Youth forum has called for
equity and fairness in electing new leadership of the local government system in Ebonyi state in the election.
The youth forum however endorsed the Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) and Chairman of Ezza North local government, Chief Moses Ogodoali for a second tenure saying he is an experienced leader.
Speaking at Ebiaji, the local government headquarters, Sunday, the President of the group, Mr. Chidi Anyigor said that Ogodoali has developed the council and he should be allowed to go for a second tenure.
“Ogodoali has done well as our chairman, he has brought many developments to this council area.
“As many who understand leadership, he empowered the indigent both in agriculture and otherwise. He took care of the health of the needy and promoted the economy of the council.
“As the ALGON chairman, he brought every benefit accrued to the council down to the people.
” We say no to those opposing his second term in office, they are enemies of the council”.
Earlier in an address, the Publicity Secretary, Obasi Sunday said,
“Ezza North People are comfortable with his leadership prowess which is a step down of the people’s charter of needs of the State Governors. To this end, we support him in his second tenure ambition.
“We Izzo/Imoja youth forum passionately wish to appeal to the state government, Ezza North stakeholders to renew their support for Chief Moses Ogodoali Nomeh for His second tenure ambition to enable Ebonyi state retain the position of the National Deputy Chairman of ALGON, that is capable of empowering many youths and attract other benefits to Ebonyi state.
“Consequently, the Izzo/Imoha youth forum urges every other person having ambition for the chairmanship position of Ezza North LGA to drop it and support our son and father who is occupying a big position at the National ALGON office.
“In the spirit of equity, fairness, and good conscience, we hereby adopt Chief Moses Ogodoali Nomeh as our sole candidate for the chairmanship position of Ezza North LGA.
“That Chief Moses Ogodoali Nomeh is a consummate politician, a master strategist, a grassroots mobilizer, and a game changer.
“We are equally aware that Chief Moses Ogodoali Nomeh has done a lot of projects cut across all communities in Ezza North LGA. For this reason, he should be given a chance for a second tenure to do more and affect lives positively”.
