The Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Nwifuru Wednesday dismissed the claims that APC held a parrallel governorship congress in the state.
Nwifuru, said such report was falsehood and that he is the authentic governorship candidate of the ruling party and would be sworn in as the successor of current governor of Ebonyi State David Umahi come May 29th, 2023.
The speaker stated this during an interaction with members of the correspondent chapel of NUJ Ebonyi state council in Abakaliki.
The correspondent chapel of NUJ honored the speaker with an award of excellence.
He said Ebonyi State was one of the states that had a successful gubernatorial primary election,
and that it was only senator Julius Ucha that petitioned the congress, which he said had been treated by the panel.
He urged media practitioners to remain focused and criticize positively as goal setters for party candidates.
“There was nothing like parrallel Congresses in Ebonyi APC. There was no petition from Ebonyi State. Only Julius Ucha submitted petition and it was treated.
“Ebonyi is one of the five states without petition. I am the candidate for APC in the state . And by the grace of God , I will be sworn in on May 29th, 2023. It is better you tell everybody the truth the party you belong to. I am in APC”.
