NSCDC Anambra State Command Enhances Operations with Five Refurbished Vehicles
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has significantly bolstered its operational capacity with the addition of five refurbished IVM IKENGA vehicles. This upgrade aims to enhance the Command’s ability to address security challenges effectively.
These vehicles, previously out of service before the arrival of the current State Commandant in January, have been restored to operational status through a collaborative effort between the State Government and the NSCDC Command. The State Government refurbished four vehicles, while the Command, under the leadership of Commandant Maku Olatunde, restored one vehicle, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing the Command’s operational capabilities.
A formal presentation of the refurbished vehicles took place at the Government House in Awka. Superintendent of Corps, Omatah Nnamdi, the NSCDC Unit Commander at the Government House, received the vehicles on behalf of State Commandant Maku Olatunde.
Commandant Olatunde conveyed the heartfelt gratitude of the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Executive Governor of Anambra State, and AVM Ben Chiobi (Rtd), Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, for their swift intervention in restoring the vehicles. This act underscores their dedication to supporting the NSCDC’s mandate.
Commandant Olatunde assured that the refurbished vehicles would be utilized effectively, significantly enhancing the Command’s capacity to safeguard critical assets and infrastructure at federal, state, and local levels in Anambra State. “The addition of these five refurbished vehicles to our fleet is a welcome development, enabling us to more efficiently carry out our responsibilities,” he stated.
He further pledged, “We recognize the trust placed in us and pledge to leverage these vehicles to enhance the safety and security of lives and properties throughout the state.”
This development underscores the NSCDC Anambra State Command’s commitment to maintaining robust security measures and enhancing its operational readiness to protect citizens and critical infrastructure.
