The national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) retired from a closed door meeting over the conduct of its national convention which was arranged for Saturday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The meeting, taking place at Transcorp Hilton, comes amid rumors that the exercise will be adjourned in opinion of the six-day window given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken the opening to swing its national convention and the main opposition party is now expected to follow suit.
Endorsement of delegates was to start at 7 am, but it was delayed for several hours
Sources at the Wadata Plaza, Wuse 5 Abuja national secretariat of the PDP informed that the endorsement may have been delayed to allow the leadership to come up with a decision on the bearing of the national convention.
Many party followers and spectators were seen powdering around the national secretariat its outcome.
