As the election draws closer by a number of months to come, politicians have supposedly adopted the term of ‘Stepping down” it began with Peter Obi of PDP, and numerous numbers from other political parties, rumor has it stated that nine aspirants will be stepping down also from APC,
Categorically we should see as politicking at this point in time the initial rumor of power shift to regions as geo-political zones and her center could not hold, it became a fight for all.
Tickets were picked by all that cares to, however when the fight became obvious in the who-is-who, gladiators and godfatherlism started showing up in the case of APC aspirants stepping down for the Jagaban and in the PDP we are witnessing more and more also making way for the almighty Atiku while others made it for benevolent purposes.
The countdown of withdrawals otherwise stepdown keep rolling while others stepdown to join other political parties in continuation of the race like the case of Peter Obi who left PDP for Labour Party, Kwankoso who left PDP for NNPP and others
Hayatu-Deen, one of the presidential candidates, announced earlier that he was exiting the race but did not say he was supporting any particular candidate, confirmed by Governor Umaru Fintiri’s statement
“Hayatu-Deen has stepped down for him (Atiku),” Mr Fintiri said. “I think he has stepped down for him. He has instructed his delegates to vote for Atiku.”
Sources also have it that amidst the ongoing PDP Presidential Primaries, as Gov. Aminu Tambuwal Steps down for Atiku.
