The rundown of the Doo Shimbura dynasty in Donga chiefdom has shown the traditional heritage as follows:

The 1st Gara Donga was Doo Shimbura, Garkye I.
When he died, his son Nubumga Donzomga became the 2nd Gara Donga. He took the title, Garbasa I
After his death, he left behind many children but it was his first son, Bileya Nubumga Donzomga that succeeded him and became the 3rd Gara Donga. He took the title, Gargbanyi I
When he died, his younger brother who was then, a title holder of the Yerima, Sonyonga Nubumga Donzomga became the 4th Gara Donga. His title was Garbosa I

After his death, his younger brother Wanga Nubumga Donzomga became the 5th Gara Donga. He took the title, Garkye II
When Wanga died, the 6th Gara Donga was the son of Nubumga Donzomga. He didn’t take the title of his father Garbosa I, instead, he took the title of his grandfather, Garbasa II
When he died, he was succeeded by Bitemya Sonyonga Nubumga who became the 7th Gara Donga. He was the son of Sonyonga, Garbosa I. Bitemya took the title, Garbosa II
After he died, Danjuma Garshena, who happened to be the grandson of Nubumga Donzomga became the 8th Gara Donga. He took the title, Garbasa III

When he died, he was succeeded by the 9th Gara, who was in the person of Danjuma Stephen Banyonga, the immediate past Gara Donga. took the title, Garbosa III. He was the grandson of Sonyonga, Garbosa I who was the 4th Gara Donga
Today HRH Sanvala Varzoa Shimbura, Gargbanyi II, is the 10th Gara Donga. His grandfather was the son of the 3rd Gara Donga, Bitemya Nubumga Donzomga, Gargbanyi I. He is therefore, the great grandson of the 3rd Gara Donga. No wonder he took the title, Gargbanyi II

The great dynasty remains together as one and have wisely got themselves into segments, and HRH Sanvala Varzoa Shimbura comes from the segment of the Royal family of Bileya Nubumga Donzomga, Gargbanyi I. The last Gara that ruled from his segment of the Royal family was Nyaga, the grandson of Nubumga Donzomga. His own father was Bileya the 3rd Gara Donga. Nyaga, when he became Gara, took the title, Garbasa II. He was the sixth Gara Donga and died in 1931.

The colourful event was attended by the creme de la creme across Nigeria. which include dignitaries, General TY Danjuma, The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, Hon. Rima Shawulu, and other top government functionalities.
