UN Secretary-General Guterres speaking at the joint press conference with Senegalese President Macky Sall at the Senegalese Presidential Palace, stated that the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war were definitely felt in Africa as well as the whole world, and noted that all needless export restrictions should be removed to combat the food and energy crisis.
Guterres emphasized that the food crisis can be resolved by introducing wheat product in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus to the world request.

Before the press conference, Guterres voyaged the UN Regional Office for West Africa and the vaccine product plant of the Pasteur Institute, which is still under construction, in the megacity of Diamniadio, 30 kilometers from Dakar.
After Senegal, Guterres will visit Niger and Nigeria on amini-Africa tour named “Ramadan solidarity”.
