Sack Reversal: Umahi hails appeal court Judgement
…says it’s a Sound Defence Of Nigeria’s Constitution

Ebonyi state Governor David Umahi Friday hailed the Court of Appeal judgement which reversed his sack from office for defecting to the ruling All progressive Congress (APC).

Appeal court on March 8, 2022 in a judgment delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo sacked Umahi and his deputy kelechi Igwe for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

But the governor in a reaction, Friday described the judgement by the three-member panel of the appellate court as a sound juridical articulation which reinforces the provisions of the Nation’s Constitution in matters relating to defection.

In a statement by Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Strategy, Chooks Oko, the governor observed with joy that the Court of Appeal has by the pronouncement, proven once again, that the Nation’s Judiciary remains the last hope of the common man.

He maintained that the judgement has further strengthened his avowed commitment to continue offering his best for the State, assuring that no amount of distraction can derail him.
