National Financial Investigation Agency Chief Faces Allegations Involving Public Figures’ Wives
Baltasar Engonga, Director General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), has been detained following allegations that he recorded over 400 explicit videos with the spouses of high-ranking officials, sparking widespread scandal. Investigations into unrelated fraud accusations led authorities to uncover CDs containing the recordings at his residence and office.
Among those implicated are spouses of prominent officials, including the Director General of Police, relatives of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and ministers. Allegedly consensual, the videos reportedly took place in varied locations, including Engonga’s office, sometimes with national symbols in view.
