Michael Ama Nnachi, the senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial zone, has visited the scene of fire incident at Eke market, in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Major political stakeholders from the south including the senator and house of representative member Iduma Igariwe has visited the survivors of the urgly incidence.
Igariwe donated 10 million while Ama Nnachi doled out 3million to support the people.
The senator, while synthesizing with the traders over the loss of their properties which is amounting to millions of naira, urged the marketers to take precautionary measures to avoid such disaster be falling them again.
He said” The fire incident is a colossal loss to the owners of the items that were burnt and the building itself, as your representative, I must commiserate with you, we sympathize with all of you.
‘There’s nothing much we can do as human beings than to say the traders should take heart, and God will replenish their purse, to enable them to take good care of their families.
“I will advise you to be conscious of this kind of occurrence when building the shops next time, and you have to take precautions and make individual efforts to protect your goods”. he implored.
He pledged to donate the sum of 3 million naira to provide succor to the traders and assured them of his continuous presence to provide good representation for his people.
Johnson Inya Oka, the Chairman of the Afikpo market amalgamated traders association, described the senator’s visit as a much-needed relief for the traders.
” We are most happy for this visit to Afikpo over this incident, we are happy because he finds time to come and commiserate with us, it is a much-needed visit for us”.
