Here we will look at the African history from where we are coming from and how we missed it.
THE SLAVE TRADE, refers to the practice of buying, selling, and transporting human beings as property. This practice was most commonly associated with the transatlantic slave trade, which occurred between the 16th and 19th centuries and are still going on in many forms and quarters.
During this time, millions of Africans were forcibly transported to the Americas, where they were enslaved and forced to work on plantations. The slave trade was a brutal and inhumane practice that caused immense suffering for the enslaved people. It was eventually abolished in the 19th century, but its legacy continues to impact societies today.
The trade masters were the people who organized and profited from the slave trade. These individuals included slave traders, who bought and sold slaves, as well as merchants, ship owners, and plantation owners. Many of these people were from European countries, such as England, France, and Portugal, who had established colonies in the Americas. There were also some African leaders who participated in the slave trade, selling captives from other tribes to the European slave traders. In general, the trade masters were driven by a desire for profit and showed little concern for the welfare of the enslaved people.
There were a number of reasons why the slave traders chose to enslave Africans. Some reasons were that Africa was relatively close to the Americas, making it an ideal source of slaves. the African continent had a large population of people who could be easily captured and transported. The slave traders also believed that Africans were better suited for hard labor in the hot climate of the Caribbean and the American South. It is also said that the European colonizers viewed Africans as inferior and saw them as a source of cheap labor. These factors all contributed to the decision to enslave Africans.
This is still ongoing in many Africa nations where we Africans are seen as cheap labors.
