Nigerian Singer Tems Shuts Down Rumours of Pregnancy
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has addressed rumors that she was pregnant with American rapper Future’s child. The speculation began after her appearance at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show in December 2023, where she wore a black dress and purple fluffy coat that led some fans to believe she was expecting.
Appearing on a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Tems questioned why Future was singled out in the pregnancy rumor. She found it amusing that fans chose him as the alleged father rather than other well-known artists she’s worked with.
“People just take the most controversial things. Why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest,” Tems remarked.
She went on to say, “Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else? If it was Drake, it would be the same thing, but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation.”
Tems noted Future’s well-known persona as a “ladies’ man,” pointing out his reputation for having multiple children.
During the interview, Tems also shared the top rap artists who have influenced her music career. She mentioned iconic names like Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J.Cole.
Tems has previously collaborated with Drake on his Certified Lover Boy album in 2021. J.Cole was also one of the few featured artists on her debut album Born In The Wild, which was released earlier this year.
