Hannibal was a son of Hamilcar Baca, of Carthage, the question of his who his exact mother was has gathered so much mystery and is unknown. Habbinal was born in 247B.C.E in carthage a powerful city in North Africa, present day Tunisia, he was born at a time when the Roman republic was a threat to north Africa, his father was a general, who inspired his son to resist the impending Roman invaders, he made him to swear everlasting hostilities to Rome, Habbinal kept this oath and devoted his life to defeating Rome.
The name of Rome is fearsome and terrifying in military history. over the centuries the Romans propelled a small city along the Tiber to rule the entire western world and even extended to northern Africa, but Hannibal an African warrior was the most skilled and successful enemy that Rome ever faced , at his best he successfully took an army of thousands of men and women, along with some elephants on the very difficult journey across the alps, stubbornly but firmly Hannibal even conquered parts of Italy and stayed there for more than 15 years, he defeated the Romans in many battles ,he was close than anyone to destroying the Roman Republic till when he was recalled to defend carthage before accomplishing his mission of destroying the Roman oppressors .

Hannibal was a great African warrior made sure his armies was always contented, he won their love and respect, yet many of the ways he did were simple things. He made sure his men were well fed going into battle. He paid so much close to their attitude, and gave them encouragement or an inspiring speech in case he noticed their spirits were fagging. Every African warrior has to learn from Hannibal that success is the ability to gain and retain the trust of his troops, while on direct war with Rome at times he ran out off of reinforcement from Carthage but his troops did not plan a mutiny against him
Hannibal was so much talented in making allies. His goal in Rome was to break away Italian allies and absorb them to his army to fight against Rome. It took him great wisdom to win these political mind games, although initially he did not many allies to absorb into his army, he made allies when he was about to go for battle ground. Its unfortunate most of his commanders did not learn much from him, when he left Italy, a decade later, his army disintegrated, half of his original army was gone, and they either gave up or were killed by Italians.
Hannibal was loved whenever he passed. he even won the hearts of natives, he did not fight any of the native civilians, aware that the Romans were tracing him wherever he passed, he left a portion of the army in Spain under the command ship of his brother Hasdrubal , Habbinal styled himself as a liberator, attracting new recruits to his banner, after which he hatched a bold plan to take the fight directly to Rome itself
Conclusively for years Hannibal sustained a war against one of the greatest powers at the time, with less support, he raised his own finances, recruited allies in the his enemy’s ground in the struggle seeking to bring more nations to his side, although carthage later eventually fell to Rome, there is much pan africanists can learn from his struggle and his many years of wise leadership
