African leaders’ travel mania and foreign trips are unnecessary and should limited

The origin of pan Africanism series

Many African leaders once in office travel around the world, in the name of looking for trade partners, investors and marketing their countries, but instead many of them in the end they only attract personal friendships, and secure resting grounds when they are out of office yet most of such trip are financed by tax payers money. Most of these leaders and move in large convoys president kaguta museveni of Uganda moves with his mobile toilet vehicle wherever he moves. In Kenya according to reliable sources president Museveni has made more than 38 trips abroad in the past one year, thus he makes three trips a month at times with a presidential team of more than 100 people. In September Uganda sent 71 members delegation to united general assembly all of them fully facilitated using taxpayers’ money.

Many of the African leaders embrace their foreign trips because most of them believe that direct engagement with the outside Africa attracts foreign investment , but this is a wrong perspective there is no foreigner who will develop Africa, most of them are only interested in exploiting African resources and repatriating all the gains and profits , in fact this portrays a bad image of how our governments are unable to deliver Africa from the indignities of underdevelopment ,however the option is not to look outside Africa or foreigners for salvation, African leaders have to look deep inside themselves and rediscover fire that burned us at independence, the fire that was sparked off by revolutionary African leaders like Nkrumah ,Patrice Lumumba , such leaders had courage and were pan African that Africa could change by the sheer efforts of the African will by Africans.
On the world global stage there is no single country that has developed because they leaders moved everyday from their capital to another flying in executive planes drinking champagne using tax payers’ money claiming to be looking water for peasants. Chairman Mao who is credited for transforming china from a struggling economy to one of the super developed economy hardly moved out of china, he instead moved from town to town in china identifying societal problems and finding immediate solution

Conclusively foreign trips by African leaders bring nothing except promote a sense of personal interests, that benefit African leaders ye such money can be used to embark on many development projects in Africa
