UMAHI NAMES EBONYI CENTRAL PARK AFTER THE SLAIN TRADITIONAL RULER

For standing on equity, and good governance of Ebonyi State the State Governor, Engr. David Umahi has approved the naming of Ebonyi State Central Park after the slain Traditional Ruler of the Umuezekoha Community, Eze Christopher Igboke Ewa.

Governor Umahi disclosed this during a Town Hall meeting with Izzi Clan, held at the State Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki.

Governor Umahi explained that the town hall meeting to all Clans and Local Government Areas of the State, ahead of the upcoming Governorship and State Assembly elections, was to remind the people of the need to vote for Hon. Francis Nwifuru for equity, justice, and fairness in the government of the State.

According to the Governor, his administration has brought peace and unity devoid of kindred dichotomy to Izzi Clan and charged them to maintain the peace and work in unity for the victory of All Progressives Congress APC in Saturday Governorship and State Assembly elections.

He said there will be No Peace In Life for the killers of the slain Traditional Ruler, he announced that the entire State would set aside a day to mourn  him after the general elections.

The Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Council, Ebere Nwogba, thanked Governor Umahi for standing on his promises of handing over to Izzi man and assured them of their total vote for APC at polls.

An elder Statesman of the Clan, Chief Chris Nwankwo, and the Chairman, of the Council of Izzi Traditional Rulers and Traditional Ruler of Amagu Autonomous Community, Eze Fidelis Nwonumara, thanked him for placing Ebonyi State on the global map and called for total votes for APC at the forthcoming elections.

In their remarks, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu and Chief Goddy Ogbaga, appealed to the entire Izzi people to eschew violence during the elections and work hard for the victory of APC at the polls
