USAID-IHP Trains 60 vaccination personnel for Covid – 19 Ramp-up in Ebonyi

USAID-IHP Thursday Trained about 60 vaccination Personnel and 20 LGA officers on the COVID-19 Vaccination Ramp-up Exercise in Ebonyi State, southeast Nigeria.

Correspondent reports that the USAID-IHP in collaboration with the State Primary Health Care Development Agency trained the 20 vaccinators, 20 recorders,10 validators 10 community mobilizers/town announcers, 10 LGA administrative secretaries, and 10 LGA immunization officers for the COVID-19 Ramp up respectively.

The training has as part of its objectives to refresh participants’ knowledge on planning, organizing COVID 19 vaccination sessions, storage, distribution, administration, and waste management of the COVID-19 Vaccine, and adopting the SCALES strategy to ramp up COVID-19 vaccination.

The participants were further trained on approaches to ramp up COVID-19 Vaccination activities in Ebonyi state using appropriate data collection and reporting tools.

IHP noted that at the end of the training participants’ capacities have been built on the current practices in surveillance and management of adverse effects following immunization for the COVID-19 Vaccines, introduced to the revised procedures on the electronic management of information data and validation processes.

As part of the action plan, 36 vaccination personnel will be selected and deployed to selected LGAs by 13th July 2022 for the exercise.
