Zenith Bank Plc announces the appointment of its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, today.
The bank prepared for their current CEO’s end of tenure brought in Ebenezer Onyeagwu, a graduate of accounting from Auchi Polytechnic, obtaining a postgraduate diploma in Financial Strategy and a certificate in Macroeconomics from the University of Oxford at a later time.
According to the announcement Mr. Onyeagwu had been the bank’s deputy managing director since October 2016, following leads from the notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the management of the bank said the new CEO’s appointment is subject to the endorsement of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Mr. Onyeagwu commenced his career at the defunct Financial Merchant Bank in 1991 and functioned at the erstwhile Citizens International Bank Limited in various management positions before connecting with zenith bank in 2002
Mr Onyeagwu started out as a senior manager in the Internal Control and Audit Group of the bank and by 2005 had become an assistant general manager in the bank.
Mr. Onyeagwu will be resuming on June 1st after the expiration of the current CEO’s Peter Amangbo tenure on Friday, May 31.
