Our attention has been drawn to the spurious reports that the Governor of Taraba State, Architect Darius Ishaku Dickson has decreed a new zoning formula, which excludes some members of the National Assembly from contesting the 2023 elections on the Platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). According to the reports some members of the National Assembly, to wit, the Senate Deputy Leader, Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau, Hon Danladi Baido and Hon. Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum, would not be allowed to contest because of the new zoning formula.
The report, which in no way, represents, what transpired in the two meetings presided over by the Governor and his Deputy, Engineer Haruna Manu, appears to be the handwork of over ambitious persons, whose personal interests, have always been at variance with the success of the party and the progress of the state as well as the yearnings of the people for inclusion and peaceful coexistence!
The facts of the matter as they affect the House of Representatives seat of Takum, Donga, Ussa and Yangtu SDA, Federal constituency, are quite simple to comprehend. In terms of equity, fairness and justice as well as power sharing, Ussa Local Government, not any other possesses the moral right to continue to hold the position. The following facts cannot be wished away by inordinate ambition:

Istifanus Gbana Nine years as Speaker and 12 years as a member of the Taraba State House of Assembly.
The only chance Ussa has had since 1999 is the current House of Representatives. Donga has been in the National Assembly for 20 years (8 years in the House of Representatives and 12 years in the Senate) and nine years as Speaker of the State House of Assembly!
Now the Governor is moving to the Senate from Government House therefore moving the House of Representatives from Ussa would not be equitable and cannot be fair or just! It would simply be telling Ussa people that they don’t belong and don’t matter!
